LIMESTONE, N.Y. (WIVB) — Prosecutors say a Cattaraugus County man used identity-hiding technology to get his ex-girlfriend to send him pictures of her having sexual contact with her teenage son.
Starting in April, authorities say Kevin Fox, 60, created multiple online personas and began using new phone numbers to threaten and obtain sexual pictures.
The phone numbers were selected by Fox using smartphone and tablet applications that give users access to non-assigned phone numbers, according to prosecutors.
With these numbers, prosecutors say Fox texted his ex-girlfriend, saying she was “in physical danger from organized crime.”
While telling her this, Fox also said the only way she could escape the danger is by taking photos of explicit sexual contact with her 17-year-old son, authorities say.
In June, prosecutors say the ex-girlfriend followed through with Fox’s alleged instructions and sent him photos and videos of sexual contact with her son.
Fox was charged with production and receipt of child pornography — a charge that carries a minimum of 15 years in jail and a maximum of 50. If convicted, Fox could also face a fine of $250,000.
