Sabres hire new assistant coach Bob Woods

BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) — The Buffalo Sabres brought in a lot of players this offseason through trades, free agency, and the draft. Dan Bylsma also added an AHL championship coach to his bench.

The Sabres hired Bob Woods, longtime assistant to Bruce Boudreau, to help develop the teams young talent. Woods won Calder Cups as an assistant and head coach of the Hershey Bears.

The 48-year-old spent five seasons as an assistant with the Washington Capitals and the Anaheim Ducks prior to his last stop as head coach and general manager of Saskatoon of the WHL.
