PAVILION, N.Y. (WIVB) — A tractor-trailer crashed into a minivan, pushing it into a gas station parking lot in Genesee County Wednesday.

The collision happened at the intersection of Routes 63 and 20 in Pavilion at 12:45 p.m. A witness says the tractor-trailer drove through a red light.

As the two vehicles collided, the truck lost its load in a nearby field. The driver, 62-year-old Dale Hoover, of Pennsylvania, was not injured.

The two people in the minivan, identified as a 68-year-old and a 70-year-old from South Carolina, were not as lucky. Both were taken to University of Rochester Medical Center. Two dogs were taken to the Genesee County Animal Shelter.

The intersection was closed for hours afterwards.

Hoover was ticketed for allegedly failing to stop at a stop light.
