Two hikers rescued from Niagara Gorge

NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO (WIVB) – Two people are safe Monday morning after they got lost in the Niagara Gorge.

It happened Sunday night around 11:30 p.m.

Niagara Parks Police say the men entered the gorge by climbing over the retaining wall in the area of Hiram Street in Niagara Falls.

Officers say the men became disoriented in the dark and were unable to make their way out.

The men’s cried for help could be heard from the U.S. side of the river.

The men were not hurt but they face trespassing charges.
