Dunkirk plastics plant to close in October

DUNKIRK, NY – (WIVB)   A Dunkirk plant will be closing shop at the end of October laying off 54 workers.

The New York State Labor Department reported that Berry Plastics Corp. will be pink slipping workers at its Chadwick Drive location over the next 90 days.

The Berry company is headquartered in Indiana and has more than 16,000 workers worldwide. They make packaging and protection materials.

Work will be transferred to the company’s other facilities.
