FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (WIVB) — A Buffalo Bills fifth-round draft pick was arrested for suspected DUI in Fayetteville, Arkansas early Thursday morning.
Running back Jonathan Williams previously played for the Arkansas Razorbacks before being selected 156th overall by the Bills.
NFL representatives say Williams had “red, watery eyes” and spoke with slurred speech when he was stopped by police. At the scene, he refused a breathalyzer test, representatives said.
Jail records from Washington County in Arkansas say Williams was taken into custody and released on $765 bond.
The Bills released on statement on Thursday, saying ““We are aware of the report and are in the process of gathering information. We have notified the league office of the report under the rules of the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.”
Another Bills running back, LeSean McCoy, recently avoided facing charges after an alleged bar fight in Philadelphia.
Williams will be in court on Friday, according to NFL representatives.
