BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) –– A city neighborhood is calling on local leaders to take action to clean up their neighborhood.
Neighbors told News 4 a house on Perry Street is a drug house and they want it removed.
One of the residents, Bob Boyle, started a petition about three weeks ago and he said the entire street signed the petition. Boyle said the petition is to get the house at 554 Perry Street demolished, boarded up or to get new homeowners.
Neighbors said there’s a lot of traffic coming in and out at all hours of the day and night. They say they even find needles and little baggies in the yard and on the sidewalks.
Homeowners are concerned about the many children that live on that street.
The Erie County sheriff’s office narcotics unit said they also have received a lot of tips about this residence.
The petition has about 25 signatures and it was submitted to the city this week.
“They go in and come down the first of the month and the third week of the month when they got money and do their drugs and leave. It’d be nice to get it boarded up and done and over with just for the kids safety,” said Boyle.
The homeowners told News 4 they see very little crime in the area and they just want this house taken care of.
News 4 reached out to common council members and Buffalo Police and the city said they’re looking into the matter.
