BROCTON, N.Y. (WIVB) — A person is recovering from a gunshot wound after a fight involving several people Friday night.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home on Central Avenue around 11:15 p.m.
Three people arrived at the home, and got into an altercation with two people who lived there, according to investigators.
During the altercation, a person living there shot one of the visitors, investigators reported.
Two men, Lamar Matthews, 35, and Shane Winn-Hopkins, 39, ran off after the shooting and were located in Westfield, police say.
The person who was shot was transported to Erie County Medical Center by Star Flight, and is expected to survive.
Matthews, of Portland, is charged with attempted robbery.
Winn-Hopkins, of Meadville, Pennsylvania, is charged with attempted robbery and burglary.
The victim and the person investigators believe fired the shot have not been identified.
