Cheektowaga man dies after series of weekend shootings

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Police announced on Monday that a Cheektowaga man was killed after a shooting on Friday.

The victim, who was only identified as a 26-year-old Cheektowaga man, was shot around 1:20 p.m. on the 100 block of French St.

No arrests have been announced in relation to the shooting.

Buffalo was plagued by three other shootings during the weekend. One occurred Friday on Walden Ave., leaving a 37-year-old Buffalo man in critical condition.

The other two happened on Sunday night. A 19-year-old Buffalo man was struck by gunfire around 10 p.m. on Langfield Ave., and a 22-year-old man was shot on Swinburne St. shortly after that.

The 19-year-old is hospitalized in stable condition and the 22-year-old was treated and released from ECMC.

In Niagara Falls, 27-year-old Marcel Walker was killed after being shot multiple times on Saturday morning.
