Game day security changes at Ralph Wilson Stadium

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — With the announcement of today’s contract extension for Quarterback Tyrod Taylor the excitement is building for Saturday’s pre-season opener. People who plan on going to the pre-season opener at the Ralph Wilson Stadium can expect to get through security faster. That’s because of metal detectors now at every gate.

The metal detectors are very simple, all you have to do is walk through. You still have to remove cell phones and glass cases, but you can leave things like your belt, wallet, keys and loose coins.

There are also changes ahead for parking lots. Those parking in the campers’ lots will need a reservation. Fans will need an advance pass to park in a specific space.

“It’s a reserved parking pass system now with campers so we hope to eliminate some of the fan safety issues and the traffic issues for campers that would line up early in the morning too early before we even opened and give our friends at Orchard Park Police Department a little heartache so we’ve hopefully resolved that situation,” said Andy Major, Bills VP of Operations.

Inside the stadium the NFL bag policy is the same. fans can also expect more entertainment within the stadium.

Even though the entry process to the Ralph Wilson Stadium should be quicker, Bills officials still recommend getting there early.
