HOLLEY, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Holley man is accused of pretending to be a Vietnam war veteran.
CBS contributors in Rochester spoke with law enforcement officers, who say Earl Skellen, 69, deceived members of the Holley VFW.
According to contributors, Skellen never served in any branch of the military.
Deputies with the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office told contributors that Skellen used his VFW membership to buy a $2,000 lawnmower for $500.
He has been charged with grand larceny and scheme to defraud.
