Chautauqua County teacher accused of having relationship with student

FREWSBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) — Back in May, New York State Police were notified of a possible inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a student at the Frewsburg School District.

This week, charges against the teacher, Steven Hess, 39, were announced.

State Police say Hess and a 16-year-old had inappropriate contact on school grounds from April to May this year.

Hess was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, sexual abuse and forcible touching. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
