HS Football Preview: Alden Bulldogs

Alden reached the Class B semifinals last season.

ALDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) – Alden head coach Rob Currin got a head start to the season when he was selected as the south team coach for this summer’s annual Kensington Lions All-Star Classic. It was a well deserved honor for Currin who got his Alden Bulldogs to the Class B semifinals last fall following a losing season.

Alden’s threat this season will be their offense, with returning quarterback Bryan Cybulski, who is no stranger to being in charge after starting every game for the Bulldogs as a sophomore last year. We caught up with the Bulldogs on day one of high school camp where they were conditioning a packed roster of juniors.

“I am expecting a very big year this year,” Cybulski said. “All my friends I have been playing with all my life are on varsity now, so I am very excited to play with them again. I think we will be great this year.”

“We graduated a significant number this year but were have a core of juniors that return as sophomores this year,” head coach Rob Currin added. “We are on the younger side this year but it is an experienced young.”
