Driver who crashed into water charged with DWI

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Police say the driver of a vehicle that went into Buffalo waters overnight was drunk.

Just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, the vehicle was submerged near Tifft St. and Fuhrmann Boulevard.

Before the crash, the driver, William Lambert, 49, had allegedly been driving on Tifft when he ran a stop sign and struck a guard rail.

Buffalo fire and police officials showed up to the crash scene and charged the Buffalo man with DWI. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
