HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) — Bills hall of famer Jim Kelly rallied dozens of volleyball teams Sunday before taking to the beach for a fierce competition and a good cause.
Kelly and more than one thousand people gathered at Woodlawn Beach in Hamburg for the 7th Annual Spikes for Tykes fundraiser.
70 teams played volleyball on the beach. The tournament raised money for the Kelly for Kids Foundation.
Kelly says it shows how willing Western New Yorkers are to come together.
“It’s not, you know, your millionaires coming out, these are people that run their own small businesses, they come out, they have fun, but the bottom line is they get it, they understand that they can come out here and do this,” said Kelly.
Spikes for Tykes has raised more than $150,000 for kids in Western New York since 2009.
