3 suspects caught following alleged home invasion, burglary

SHERMAN, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three people were arrested after an alleged home invasion in Chautauqua County.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies say Nicholas Tobin, 32, June Hoovler, 37, and Jamie Markham, 35, entered a home on Cornish St. in Sherman and blocked a door, preventing anyone else from entering, and keeping the residents inside.

After letting a male victim take a child into another room, the three allegedly stole a woman’s phone and left. During this time, the man called 911.

Warrants were issued for their arrests, and they were all taken into custody without incident.

Tobin, Hoovler and Markham were all charged with burglary, conspiracy, unlawful imprisonment, petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child. Tobin and Hoovler face assault charges as well. Tobin was also charged with criminal contempt.

Following the alleged incident, the three were sent to the Chautauqua County Jail.
