Sal Capaccio and Josh Reed wrap-up Bills Training Camp

Sports Director Josh Reed and WGR 550's Sal Capaccio chat about the progress the Bills made during Training Camp.

JOSH REED: It was an interesting training camp to say the least, lots of story lines off the field. But lets focus on what was on the filed.. Sal Capaccio joining me from WGR 550. I was really impressed the entire training camp with the Bills offense it looks like they have enough play makers to win games during the regular season.

SAL CAPACCIO: Let’s start with LeSean McCoy, you and I said from the get go he has looked good form the get go. He said he put away the Rolls Royce and the Bentleys and the things like that and he looked like it. He has been a consistent performer and I think he is in for a big year if he stays healthy. Tyrod Taylor started off to me a little slowly but I think that was because he was deliberate. Not looking over his shoulder every pass wondering if I do something wrong someone is taking my job. He was really working like a golfer works on his swing. He was working and building up to where he is really, really good right now. The big question mark is Sammy Watkins, if he can stay healthy and that is a big if, they are going to have a very good, dynamic player at wide receiver and with Tyrod, LeSean and Sammy that could make a big difference.

JR: As we get closer to the regular season the question mark is still on the defensive side of the ball. What are you going to get out of these guys who are injured, Aaron Williams is he going to be able to play this season? Kyle Williams, what are they going to get out of these guys, that is the big question mark still.

SC: No doubt about it but I will say one thing I really liked over the past couple weeks is I was paying attention to the communication and how it was streamlined. That has been the big issue going back to last year. Rex said ‘all in’ we are running one defense we are not mixing two defenses. And I got to tell you only one time during the Giants game did I see hurky jerky and trying to get guys in there. But, other wise pretty good. I think the communication is down. And let’s face it if the communication is down and you know your assignments and schemes you will be ok even losing those guys. You can’t lose them all for a long period of time but I think they will be Ok with that.

JR: Should be interesting to watch the third preseason game of the year, the Bills and the Redskins on Saturday. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
