8-year-old boy struck by gunfire on South Division St. identified

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Police say an 8-year-old boy was hit by gunfire while sitting in a vehicle Thursday night.

Police responded to the call just after 10 p.m. in the 400 block of South Division Street.

The child, identified as Donnell Bibbes, was taken to Women and Children’s Hospital and is in critical condition, according to police. He underwent two surgeries as of Friday morning.

The shooting itself is being considered targeted.
