BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Coming off a Class B semifinal appearance in one of their best seasons in recent years, Springville-Griffith football is ready to build on its big season with eleven seniors returning in 2016.
“It’s super important for everyone here to win that class and win that section,” senior running back Ian Baker says. “We’re trying to bring that tradition back.”
“I think we’re pretty athletic, more so than we’ve been in the last few years,” head coach Eric Jantzi says. “We’ve got weapons who can hit you with quick hitters, we throw the ball well, we run the ball well.”
Baker is the go-to weapon for the Griffins. He ran for 221 yards and 3 touchdowns in the semifinal loss to Cheektowaga and hopes to do more of the same this Fall.
