Four displaced by Fruit Belt fire

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Red Cross is offering assistance to four people whose home caught on fire early Saturday morning.

Dispatchers called for firefighters to go to Rose Street moments after midnight.

Just after they arrived, crews discovered a live wire very close to one fire truck.  No one was hurt despite the wire’s presence.

The fire is under investigation Saturday morning.  Damages to the building are estimated at $80,000, with another $30,000 to the contents of the home. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
