Shooting victim leaves hospital after being told of treatment plans

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man was shot in the leg in Niagara Falls around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

After the shooting, which happened near Whitney Ave. and 17th St., police say the man drove himself to a nearby hospital.

The man’s stay at the hospital was short though, as he took off when staff told him he would have to go to ECMC.

It is not clear what the man’s reasons were for not wanting to go to the facility. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
