ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) – Following the Bills 13-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens various reports said the wide receiver Sammy Watkins was dealing with pain in his foot. Watkins, who said he met with trainers after the game, said that he was trying to be “smart about the injury” and that he is healthy.

It was a scary moment for Bills fans who spent the morning thinking Watkins would miss time. But, in his Monday afternoon press conference Rex Ryan said the reports were “overboard.”

“Well I think you—I mean he’s sore and I think that’s what it is and like I said I guess, you know and I’m saying we’ll see how he progresses because, you know, that’s it,” the second year head coach said. “So you’re concerned with every injury but you know hopefully he’ll progress through the week and he’ll be ready to roll.”

Watkins went a step further saying that he was not “in pain” and that his injury was “not about pain.” Adding that he will definitely play against the Jets on Thursday night at New Era Field.
