TOWN OF SHERIDAN, N.Y. (WIVB) — A deadly crash shut down part of the I-90 for hours Wednesday morning.

New York State Police say a tractor trailer rear-ended a pickup truck, causing the pickup to roll.

The pickup truck driver, identified as Indianapolis resident Rush D. Addair, 81, was pronounced dead at the scene. His female passenger had minor injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt.

The crash shut down the eastbound lanes of the I-90 for around five hours starting at 3:30 a.m. Traffic was diverted off the Thruway at the Dunkirk exit.
