Ken-Ton school district issues warning about suspicious driver talking to kids

TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Parents in the Ken-Ton School District have been made aware of suspicious incidents involving a man driving on nearby streets.

The school says incidents happened on Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday, the school says a white, blond, balding man was seen making comments while passing bus stops in the Starin/Englewood Ave. area. He was driving a blue vehicle that could have possibly been a minivan or Trailblazer, according to witnesses.

The next day, a 14-year-old was approached and threatened by a man fitting the same description in the Sheridan Drive/Parkedge Ave. area.

The man appeared to be between 35 and 40 years old and had a scruffy appearance, the school says.

The school reminded children to never accept rides from strangers. Concerned individuals can call the Town of Tonawanda Police confidential tip line at 879-6606 if they see suspicious activity or have information on it. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
