New rehab facility in Niagara County for young adults

SANBORN, N.Y. (WIVB) — A first of its kind rehabilitation clinic is now open in Niagara County. Delta Village in Sanborn is geared towards the younger generation fighting addiction.

The 25-bed facility is designed to not only help people with their addiction, but to also give them the tools they need to stay clean.

Nicholas Gazzoli, the program director at Delta Village, said “While someone is here, for however long they’re here, that bed becomes their lifeline, and when they leave when they are ready, that bed opens up a new lifeline for someone else.”

Delta Village, which is part of the Horizon Heatlh Services Group, cut their grand opening ribbon on Wednesday. The brand new 25-bed facility in Sanborn started taking patients in back in August, and it’s the first of its kind in New York State – because of their long term tailored recovery services specific to younger patients.

Gazzoli added, “Because you can’t necessarily treat someone who is between 18 to 25 the way you would approach recovery for someone who is in their late 40’s or 50’s”

Inside, the facility offers a way for addicts to get out of their environment, and most importantly, a way for them to build themselves up mentally and physically during their recovery.

“They get an opportunity at a new life, they get an opportunity at finding recovery, finding health, finding their freedom, finding their families back, finding themselves back.”, said Gazzoli.

Megan Gorski, the clinical supervisor at Delta Village, said “Learning how to live a healthy lifestyle and offering and building up as many supports as we can so that when people do successfully complete and get discharged they have the highest rates of success.”

Krystal Conlan is finishing her recovery from alcoholism next week. Conlan is one of the first graduates to leave Delta Village. She said, “I’ve really had a great opportunity here, I don’t regret it and it’s been just a really great experience.”

“it’s really hard for people to ask for help, and if you are struggling, I would just say go for it, get the help that you need, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.”, said Conlan.

Horizon Health Services says they just received a grant from the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse to add an additional 25 recovery beds for their programs. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
