CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police say a man was stealing toy drones from the place where he worked to support his drug habit. Officers have charged Justin Stevens, 40, with three counts of petit larceny.

Captain Fredric Foels says detectives believe the thefts happened six times during July and August. Stevens worked for a pool distribution company in Tonawanda as a warehouse employee, according to police.

Stevens “….admitted to Detectives he would take the toy drones to Buffalo cocaine dealers and trade them for powered cocaine,” Captain Foels said in a prepared statement. The drones were worth $30 each. Police believe he stole more than $600 worth of gear.
