Batavia teacher admits to lesser charge amid sex abuse investigation

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Batavia teacher has pleaded guilty to attempted disseminating indecent material to a minor.

Originally charged with a felony, Monroe County resident Anthony Antinore, 51, allegedly received sexually explicit photos from a student. According to police, Antinore asked the student to send him the photos.

Police say the student was not willing to testify before a grand jury or at trial.

Antinore pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge, instead of a felony.

In court, he was ordered to stay away from the student and surrender his teaching license.

Antinore faces a maximum of one year in jail, and a minimum of no time. He will be sentenced December 13. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
