Man attacked outside Downtown library

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police announced they have 4 suspects in custody in connection with an early morning assault near the Buffalo and Erie County Library.

Police say the 64-year-old man who was attacked suffered serious injuries and is listed in critical condition at ECMC.

Police say a 16-year-old Buffalo male, a 17-year old Buffalo male and two juvenile male teenagers were taken into custody after they fled the scene. All four are facing gang assault and 1st degree assault charges.

Officers closed Ellicott Street from Broadway to Clinton for several hours overnight as they investigated.

Buffalo Police say surveillance cameras assisted with the investigation.
