Security guard stabbed at 716 Food and Sport restaurant

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police say a security guard was stabbed by an intoxicated customer outside of 716 Food and Sport restaurant Thursday night.

According to a police spokesperson, the male suspect was being escorted out of the restaurant when he pulled out a knife and stabbed the security guard in the hand.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene and was later taken into custody by police. The security guard suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Charges against the suspect are pending. The suspect’s name has not been released.

716 Food and Sport released the following statement:

“There was an incident tonight at (716) Food and Sport. There were no serious injuries and the suspect is in the custody of the Buffalo Police Department. Please refer any additional inquiries to the Buffalo Police Department.”
