Albright-Knox gets new name, $42.5 million donation


BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Albright-Knox Art Gallery is growing and getting a new name, and it’s thanks to Jeffrey Gundlach.

Gundlach is from Buffalo and has lifelong ties to the city. He is donating $42.5 million to the gallery.

The money will help the gallery expand and give it a new name — the Buffalo Albright-Knox-Gundlach Art Museum.

Gundlach’s donation is the largest single private donation to a cultural institution in the history of Buffalo.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo spoke at the gallery Friday afternoon. See his speech in the video below.
