Amish man killed after car collides with buggy

TOWN OF HARMONY, N.Y. (WIVB) — One person was killed and two others were injured when a driver struck an Amish buggy in Chautauqua County.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies say a woman was driving on Weeks Rd. in the Town of Harmony when she fell asleep and rear-ended the buggy Thursday afternoon.

The man operating the buggy, Henry Koffman Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman and three children were taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment.

No charges have been announced and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
