Clarence production facility to close, shift production out-of-state

CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Greatbatch Medical facility in Clarence is set to close.

The closure of the facility, which is owned by Integer, will impact 120 company employees.

Production will be transferred to sites in Minnesota, Virginia and locally, Alden.

“Decisions like these do not come easily, especially when they involve our associates,” Thomas Hook, Integer president and chief executive officer, said. “After considerable study, we determined that shifting production to sites with capacity for growth will optimize our existing operating infrastructure, and best serve our customers for the long term.”

The closure process will take 12 to 18 months. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
