Police: Woman tries to claim she was driving before boyfriend’s DWI arrest

ATTICA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two people were arrested after allegedly lying to police about a crash in Attica.

Alexander couple Victoria Bakos and Robert Geandreau were driving on Market St. when they crashed.

When Attica police arrived, Bakos told them she had been driving, which police say is not true. Bakos was allegedly covering up for Geandreau, the actual driver.

The reason? Geandreau had allegedly been drinking that afternoon.

Geandreau has an extensive history of DWIs and a suspended license, according to police. Another DWI charge came against him that day.

In addition to that, he was also accused of aggravated unlicensed operation and other charges.

Bakos was charged with hindering prosecution and given a ticket to appear in court. Geandreau was jailed in Wyoming County on $10,000 bail.
