LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two people were arrested on gun and drug charges at the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge Friday morning.

The unnamed males, ages 16 and 19, were questioned by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers when they were found in a rental vehicle with no driver’s licenses or other forms of identification.

They told authorities that they made a wrong turn after dropping off a family member in Lewiston. They then made a U-turn before reaching Canada, officers say.

Officials who searched the males’ vehicle said they found two loaded handguns in the glove box and under a seat. In addition to that, nearly 9 grams of marijuana and more than 5 grams of cocaine were allegedly found in their possession.

Lewiston police came and took the two males into custody.
