HS Football Friday: Week Six Recap

On field altercation involving Chad Kelly at St. Joe's - Timon game suspends contest.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A fight broke out between Timon and St. Joe’s at Tifft field after Chad Kelly’s brother, Casey, took a late hit. News 4’s Tom Martin was recording the game and captured video of Chad Kelly being pushed back to the sideline after he rushed the field. According to the Buffalo Police Department, no injuries were reported and no arrests have been made. Because of the fight, the game was suspended during the second quarter. Nearly two years ago, Kelly was arrested after a bar fight in downtown Buffalo. He is the nephew of Bills hall of famer Jim Kelly. Timon was leading 2-0 before the game was called. School representatives say there is not a set date for rescheduling the game. Both teams will meet and determine a course of action later.

In other high school football action, a meeting of class D unbeatens highlighted the evening. Maple Grove, ranked first in the state, hosted Silver Creek. The Red Dragons won 43-6 and will have a favorable path to New Era Field in two week.

In class AA Williamsville and Niagara Falls met to determine second place in the north division, Niagara Falls won 17-14.

As for the leader in the class AA north, Clarence hosted Kenmore West. The visitors pulled off the surprising road victory 14-10.

The winner between Dunkirk and Springville would clinch a spot in the class B playoffs. Dunkirk’s run game led them to a 40-6 victory.
