BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — During Sunday night’s debate, several areas hosted watch parties around the city. Regal Cinema’s on Elmwood Avenue hosted a free watch party in one of their theater’s.
Several people attended the watch party. Voters said the debate was entertaining, interesting and embarrassing.
Local voters told News 4 it was a rough start as the candidates were attacking each other and talking over one another. They said it seemed more like a reality show.
Viewers said they wanted to see the candidates talk about the real issues at hand, such as the economy, health care, jobs and human rights issues.
Some of the voters said they were interested in hearing about Hillary Clinton’s emails and Donald Trumps vulgar tapes, but others said they weren’t interested in hearing about either topics.
Viewers at the watch party said they already know which candidate they’re going to vote for and that this debate wasn’t going to change that.
“I definitely prefer one candidate to the other so I don’t think, as entertaining as its been, I don’t think this will have an affect on the way I’ll be voting in November,” said Ben Ingalls, Buffalo resident.
“I’m worried about the people who don’t know who they’re going to vote for, I feel like it shouldn’t be this divisive as it is and there shouldn’t be as many swing voters left,” said Chris Richevrt, Buffalo resident.
Both candidates will take the stage for their third Presidential debate October 19.
