JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) — Jamestown police officers and the New York State Division of Parole teamed up Tuesday night and charged a man with possessing 95 bags of heroin.
Officers conducted visits to the homes of parolees in the city. At a residence on McKinley Ave., they say they found Jemarr Smith, 31, smoking marijuana.
After taking the Rochester man into custody, officers say they noticed him take something out of his pants while in their vehicle.
Police say it was heroin — 95 bags of it.
In all, Smith was charged with false personation, unlawful marijuana possession, criminal controlled substance possession and tampering with physical evidence.
He was jailed in Jamestown to await arraignment.
