Fire rips through four Bay Beach cottages

FORT ERIE, Ont. – Fire tore through a group of four lakefront cottages on Bay Beach overnight causing more than $2 million in damage.

The area is a popular Summer vacation spot just over the border in Canada.

Firefighters said that three of the buildings are a total loss, a fourth is badly damaged. All had been closed for the season.

The blaze broke out on Erie Road near Eastwood Avenue.

The buildings were very close together, which apparently led to the spread of the flames.
