Of the men arrested, Jose Sanchez-Ocampo, appeared in court Wednesday. Described as Mucino’s right hand man, Sanchez-Ocampo and his wife are illegally in the United States. They have a child who is a legal U.S. citizen.

The 37-year-old’s role in the operation was to transport and recruit workers, as well as pay them, prosecutors say. His attorney entered a ‘not guilty’ plea for him in court.
