BLASDELL, N.Y. (WIVB) – Raising kids is very expensive, and a lot of families are looking to save money wherever they can. They’ll have a great opportunity to do that this weekend at Mothertime Marketplace, the largest consignment sale event in our region.
Hundreds of local families have brought in thousands and thousands of items to sell, making money off the things they no longer need, and offering huge savings for shoppers.
“You’re going to find it at a significantly discounted price and it’s worth every penny to come here and shop and save your money,” said Jessi Boardman, co-owner of Mothertime Marketplace.
The items for sale include everything from baby equipment like top-end strollers and pack-and-plays, to toys for kids of all ages, to housewares, and clothes. The clothes range in size from newborn to juniors.
All of it is priced to sell at 50 to 75 – even 90 – percent off the retail prices.
And, all of it is in great shape. Mothertime Marketplace only accepts items for consignment that are very gently used or even new. Some of the merchandise still has its original tags on it.
Thousands of shoppers are expected to turn out this weekend to enjoy the savings.
“It is so important for our community because we’re saving money,” said Mothertime Marketplace co-owner Jennifer Berry. “You can use that money that you’re saving for so many other things that your kids need, whether it be clothes, or things for school, things for sports, vacations, Christmas shopping, so it’s something that puts money back into the pockets of the people in our community.”
Mothertime Marketplace will also give back to community members in need, donating a lot of the items that aren’t sold by the end of the event Sunday. The owners are also donating $500 to charity after this sale, and are asking customers to help them pick the recipient organization.
“It’s just a win-win for everyone,” Boardman said.
