Entrepreneurs kick off 43North Week by brainstorming ideas

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — More than 100 entrepreneurs from Buffalo and around the region brainstormed their best business ideas Sunday, to kick off the third annual 43North Week.

People with an interest in business got a chance to lay out their plans and ideas with other developers and find out what it’s like to create a real business.

Organizers say many of the people who come to this event wind up with successful companies in the future.

“There are members that have joined this weekend that have actually gone on to become businesses that work with labs as well as with 43North,” said Matt Hostetler, Startup Weekend organizer.

Three businesses also presented their plans to a panel of judges Sunday as part of “The Pitch” event. The top business will win $10,000.
