BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 4-year-old boy has died after being struck by a car Tuesday night.
The crash happened just before 7:20 p.m. on Sycamore Street, near the intersection of Fillmore Avenue. Police say a car was heading west on Sycamore when the young boy ran out in front of it.
The boy, later identified as Tasfiq Tofa, was taken to Women and Children’s Hospital with what had been described as serious injuries. Our News 4 sources told us Tofa was taken into surgery at the hospital, but later died. Police confirmed the boy’s death Wednesday morning.
The driver, a 22-year-old man, cooperated in the police investigation. He is not facing charges at this time.
The vehicle was impounded for further testing. Speed does not appear to be a factor in the incident.
