ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — Ahead of the Bills vs. Patriots game, players, fans, and businesses are getting ready.
“It’s definitely a lot of excitement,” said Jason Klein, the Bills Store retail manager. “It is the Patriots so Tom [Brady] and company will be in town.”
Fans will be giving Brady & co. a nice big, Buffalo welcome — Sunday’s game is sold out.
The Buffalo Bills store is helping fans gear up for the retro-themed game.
“The retro game is definitely big. Fans love it. ”
The store’s retail manager is making sure they’re stocked up on new clothing sporting the old school logo.
“I think they like that logo because one they can wear it around town without screaming Bills and it is just the standing buffalo so it speaks for the city itself,” said Klein.
And across the city, different businesses are prepping already too.
“It’s always better for Patriots week,” said John Bona, the owner at Amherst Pizza and Ale House. “It’s a good time.”
Many are dubbing this “One Buffalo Weekend” as the Sabres play Saturday at 1 p.m.; Bills, Sunday at 1 p.m.; Sabres, Sunday at 3p.m.
Bona thinks it’ll give business a big boost.
“We have good turn out for Bills games,” said Bona. “This week, hopefully we will be even better.”
Business managers are hoping the touchdown lights will go off early and often Sunday as the Bills take on Brady, Belichick and the rest of the Patriots.
“The temperature of our customer base runs high when we win so it’s fun,” said Bona.
“Business will be good,” said Klein. “I think there will be a lot of fans here as the Patriots will be here. People always get up and get out for this game.”
The Bills take on the Patriots at 1p.m. at New Era Field. The game is airing on Channel 4.
