BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- New York State Police are cracking down on drunk driving this Halloween weekend.
Drivers should expect increased patrols and sobriety checkpoints.
“This holiday season we don’t want anyone falling into the trap of getting a DWI and/or killing somebody,” said Trooper James O’Callaghan. “We look for DWI’s, we look for vehicles that could possibly endanger other people on the roadway. We also look for possible vandalism or large groups of people that may cause vandalism, or someone who may want to damage people’s houses with toilet paper.”
Police arrested 167 people last year for DWI.
