Police investigate west side tire slashings

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police are investigating multiple tire slashings on the city’s west side.

Saturday morning, the Buffalo Police Department sent a tweet reporting the crimes happening on three streets: Richmond Avenue, Bird Avenue and Manchester Place. Police say more than 50 cars had their tires slashed. A tow truck driver says there’s more than 100 cars. Police say they are only counting the cars that were reported to them by the owners.

In a statement, police said, “Detectives have been canvassing the areas all day, going door to door to gather information and any video that might be available.”

Buffalo Police also tell us they have added additional patrols in the area.

Police say the slashings happened overnight; they’re asking anyone with information to call the “D” District Headquarters at (716) 851-4413.
