TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Winter parking bans in Cheektowaga, Amherst and the Town of Tonawanda have been postponed until mid-November.
The parking bans in Cheektowaga and the Town of Tonawanda were originally scheduled for Nov. 1, but on Saturday, police announced that town officials postponed the ordinances until November 15.
Due to “unseasonably warm weather,” Amherst officials postponed their parking ban too, allowing it to take effect on November 16.
During the Town of Tonawanda ordinance, which lasts until April 1, no one will be allowed to park on town streets from 2-6 a.m. In Amherst, parking will not be allowed from 1-7 a.m., and in Cheektowaga, it will be banned from 1-6 a.m.
As of Nov. 1, the Village of Wellsville Winter parking ban is in effect. No parking is allowed on the streets from 2-6 a.m. In Dunkirk, parking on streets is banned from 3:30-7 a.m. starting Sunday Nov. 6.
