Suspect charged in early morning shooting, police looking for others

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 20-year-old Buffalo man has been arrested following an early morning home invasion and shooting on Lovejoy St.

Just before 2 a.m., Buffalo police showed up to a residence on the 1000 block of the street.

There, police say Michael Murchison and others forced their way into the residence. One of them allegedly shot a 22-year-old man. The incident was targeted, according to police.

After this, police say the shooting victim fired at Murchison with birdshot.

Murchison was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary. The 22-year-old victim is in stable condition at ECMC.

Other suspects are outstanding as of Tuesday afternoon, police say.
