GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) — Erie County Sheriff’s deputies say the first discoveries they made about a driver on Whitehaven Rd. were that he had a suspended license and registration, but these were allegedly not the most severe offenses of the night.
While searching the vehicle of Jonathan Chamberlain, 23, during a traffic stop, deputies say they found 393 codeine pills in his possession. The pills weighed a total of 5.9 ounces, deputies say.
The Niagara Falls man was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal controlled substance possession and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration.
After his arraignment, Chamberlain was released from the Erie County Holding Center.
