Buffalo school officials warn of man in minivan after suspicious incident

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Public Schools officials are warning parents and students to be cautious of strangers after a recent incident involving a suspicious man.

Buffalo police say a 14-year-old girl was approached by a black man with short black hair who repeatedly asked her to talk to him and get in his minivan.

The man was described as being in his early-to-mid 30s, chubby, and wearing glasses and a short sleeved shirt.

The alleged incident began at Court and Pearl streets. Police say the man followed the girl to Huron St., but drove away when more people were seen nearby.

School officials are asking parents to have conversations with their children regarding avoiding strangers.
