BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Did you know the bison, the City of Buffalo’s symbol, is the United States’ National Mammal? Well, it is being celebrated this Saturday at the Buffalo Zoo!
The Buffalo Zoo has invited people to come celebrate National Bison Day with them on Nov. 5. The fourth annual event will focus on the largest land animal in the country.
Joining the zoo’s resident bison, Rose, Betty and Wilma, will be Buster Bison. He will sign autographs and take pictures with fans.
Pres. Barack Obama signed the National Bison Legacy Act on May 9, making the animal the country’s National Mammal.
National Bison Day will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. around the bison exhibit.
